My first foray into industrial automation and controls!

As part of a senior design project, we worked with a local medical device manufacturer to try to automate a tubing assembly process that was currently entirely manual.

The company loaned us some old equipment including some solenoid valves and an old Omron PLC.  We built a system to clamp a piece of tubing and insert two other parts using a certain amount of known pressure.  I had to learn ladder logic (man it was weird at first!) and learn how to control a sequential process.

It was an awesome learning experience but I don't think the company ever ended up doing anything with it.
